The Science Behind The Living Matrix and Energy Work

The science behind energy healing cannot be denied.  Medical professionals are recognizing that the energy systems in our bodies need healing and maintenance.  Currently medical science monitors the electromagnetic energy systems or energy impulses in our body to measure and assess our inner body's health.  Some of these systems used to measure or monitor our body rhythms are:

  • electroencephalography (eeg for brain waves),

  • electrical muscle stimulation (for muscle injuries),

  • echocardiogram (ecg for monitoring your heart's electrical rhythms),

  • electrocardiogram,

  • electrophysiology testing,

  • magnetic resonance imaging (mri - uses magnetic field, radio waves and a computer),

  • PET scans, (A positron emission tomography (PET) scan is a type of nuclear imaging test that shows the metabolic activities (energy usage) of your brain.  X-ray, CT, and MRI scans look at the anatomy of your brain, a PET scan can give your doctor information about how your brain is working.

Through activating the trillions of neurons throughout your body and unblocking energy points, Reiki can assist clients in achieving a deep level of relaxation, the ability to de-stress, anxiety reduction, improved sleep and restfulness, inflammation reduction and pain relief which usually results in an increase in mobility.

Reiki improves the circulatory system, nervous system, the lymphatic system, the endocrine system and it  improves the functionality of the digestive and excretory syst
ems.  Reiki and energy healing improve your overall immune system, your body's balance and it aids with emotional regulation and healing.  It increases a person's overall energy levels and aids in maintaining optimistic attitudes as things physically and emotionally improve in a person's body.

Reiki and Energy Healing are great compliments to any medical treatment program.

Science Behind Grounding

Human Hemoglobin Levels and Reiki Healing: a Physiologic Perspective

Wendy Wetzel

Published in "Journal of Holistic Nursing", 7 (1), pp. 47–54 (1989).

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Reiki on human hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.

Procedure: The hemoglobin and hematocrit levels of 48 adults participating in a Level 1 course were measured. Demographics and motivation were also examined. An untreated control group was used to document the changes in hemoglobin and hematocrit under normal circumstances.

Findings: Using a t-test there was a statistically significant change between the pre-and post-course hemoglobin and hematocrit levels of the participants at the p > 0.01 level. 28 per cent experiencing an increase and the remainder experiencing a decrease. There was no change for the untreated control group within an identical time frame.

Conclusions: That Reiki has a measurable physiologic effect. The data supports the premise that energy can be transferred between individuals for the purposes of healing, balancing, and increasing wellness. Some individuals found that their blood levels went up while others went down which is consistent with the concept that Reiki is balancing for each individual. This trial tests Reiki on patients with chronic illnesses using electrodermal screening.

The Efficacy of Reiki Hands on Healing: Improvements in Adrenal, Spleen and Nervous Function as Quantified by Electro-Dermal Screening

Betty Hartwell and Barbara Brewitt.

Published in "Alternative Therapies Magazine", 3 (4), p. 89 (July 1997)

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effects of Reiki treatments on chronic illnesses using electrodermal screening.

Procedure: This study was carried out on five patients with life-threatening and chronic illnesses: lupus, fibromyalgia, thyroid goiter, and multiple sclerosis. Eleven one-hour Reiki treatments using 4 different Level 2 practitioners and one Reiki Master were performed over a ten-week period. These Reiki practitioners systematically placed their hands over the same body positions including the neurovascular regions on the cranium, neurolymphatic points on the trunk and minor chakra points on the limbs. No new conventional or alternative medical treatments were given during this period. Initially, three consecutive treatments were given and then one treatment per week for eight weeks.

Findings: The patients were tested three times during the study.

1. Before the study commenced.

2. After their third treatment.

3. After their tenth treatment.

Each individual was measured for skin electrical resistance at three acupuncture points on hands and feet. At the cervical/thoracic point the measurements went from 25 per cent below normal to the normal range. The adrenal measurements went from 8.3 per cent below normal to normal — some time between the middle and last measurements. The spleen measurements went from 7.8 per cent below normal to normal after only three sessions. All the patients reported increased relaxation after Reiki treatments, a reduction in pain and an increase in mobility.

These trials are concerned with the effect of Reiki on pain relief and other symptoms:

Pain, Anxiety and Depression in Chronically Ill Patients with Reiki Healing

Linda J. Dressen and Sangeeta Singg.

Published in "Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine Journal", 9 (1) (1998).

Purpose: To measure the results of Reiki and its effect on pain, anxiety, and depression in chronically ill patients.

Procedure: 120 Patients who had been in pain for at least 1 year were trialed. Their complaints included: headaches, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, peptic ulcer, asthma, hypertension and HIV. Four different styles of treatment were performed on 3 groups of 20 people. The four styles of treatment were: Reiki, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, no treatment and false-Reiki. Each of the groups received ten 30-minute treatments, twice a week over five weeks. Patients were examined before and after the series of treatments. Reiki patients were examined three months after completion.

Findings: Reiki proved significantly superior (p<.0001–.04) to other treatments on ten out of 12 variables. At the three-month check-up these changes were consistent and there were highly significant reductions in Total Pain Rating Index (p<.0006) and in sensory (p<.0003) and Affective (p<.02) Qualities of Pain.

Conclusion: Significant effects of Reiki on anxiety, pain and depression are shown here. Some possible variables were not controlled.

Using Reiki to Manage Pain: a Preliminary Report

alta.karino@cancerboard.ab.ca

Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton, USA.

Published in Cancer Prev. Control, 1 (2) pp. 108–13 (1997).

Purpose: To explore the usefulness of Reiki as an alternative to opioid therapy in the management of pain. This was a pilot study.

Procedure: 20 volunteers experienced pain at 55 sites for a variety of reasons, including cancer. A Level 2 practitioner provided all Reiki treatments. Pain was measured using both a visual analogue scale (VAS) and a Likert scale immediately before and after each Reiki treatment.

Findings: Both the instruments showed a highly significant (p < 0.0001) reduction in pain following the Reiki treatments.

Reiki for Post-Operative Healing

"There was a statistically significant trend of pain reduction in the Reiki group not seen in either the standard of care group or sham Reiki group. Only the Reiki group showed post-operative diminution in blood pressure and respiratory rate. The sham group showed a decrease in anxiety, but less than the group receiving Reiki."  See link below:

Science Behind Energy Healing

Donna Eden, the world renowned Energy Medicine Guru, is in her 70s, has had multiple sclerosis her entire life, had a heart attack in her 20s and wasn't expected to live.

She defied the medical world and starting listening to her body and working with her own energy points to relieve stress, inflammation and increase her own mobility.  Donna learned that by touching, rubbing or moving different parts of the body, she was able to unblock energy points and encourage the free flow of blood, fluids, neurons, digestion and excretion.  All of this made her body function so much better, enabling it to heal itself.

Today Donna shares with the world her approach to energy medicine.  I use this in my practice as well.  Here is a great 11 mins video where Donna shows the world her basic morning energy routine that helps her to maintain her vitality and stave off MS her entire life.  Donna is a walking scientific poster child for how energy medicine can help the body heal itself.

The Science Behind Access Consciousness

This is a review of what occurs in the brain before and after an Access Bars session. Presented by neuroscientist Dr. Jeffrey Fannin with Gary Douglas & Dr. Dain Heer, creators of Access Consciousness. Filmed at the Secret Knock Conference in San Diego, California March of 2015.

The Access Consciousness Bars are the very core and foundation of Access Consciousness. It can be the starting point of a great adventure and it can be something you add to your life that will assist you in creating a greater ease with everything. The Bars are 32 bars of energy that run through and around your head that connect to different aspects of your life. We call all of the points you touch when using this modality “The Bars.” The Bars store the electromagnetic component of all the thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions and beliefs that you have ever had about anything.

Access Consciousness is now available in 173 countries. To learn more about Access Consciousness & The Bars go here: http://www.accessconsciousness.com Dr. Jeffrey L. Fannin has been in the field of neuroscience for over 15 years and is the creator of the Center for Cognitive Enhancement. The Science Behind - Tapping Acupressure Points

By tapping on specific meridians that run through various organs and have specific acupressure points the practitioner can releasing energy blocks and stimulate the firing of neurons.  By tapping specific meridians the practitioner forces neurons to fire, sending little mini bursts of electricity through the nervous system.  These little tiny bursts help to promote the free flow of energy, bodily fluids, circulation and metabolism, allowing the body to metabolize and process the release of toxins from the energy fields.  At worst it feels like a relaxing massage; at best you will experience a reduction in pain levels and an increase in mobility and energy.

The Science Behind "Emotional Freedom Technique" for Tapping

"The Manual Stimulation of Acupuncture Points in the Treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Review of Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques" Researched and presented by:  Dawson Church, PhD,1 and David Feinstein, PhD2

Background: The manual stimulation of acupuncture points has been combined with components of cognitive and exposure therapies into a clinical and self-help approach known as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). More than 40 clinical trials and four meta-analytic reviews of EFT treatments have demonstrated large effect sizes with a range of conditions, including pain, PTSD (in both civilian and military veteran populations), phobias, anxiety, and depression.

Objective: This review describes the approach, with a focus on PTSD in veterans and service members, provides an overview of how EFT is most commonly applied, and outlines obstacles and cautions related to its implementation.

Methods: Peer-reviewed clinical trials and meta-analyses of EFT in the treatment of PTSD are assessed to identify the characteristics of the approach that render it suitable for the treatment of PTSD.

Results: The literature demonstrates that remediation of PTSD and comorbid conditions is typically accomplished within brief time frames, ranging from one session for phobias to between four and ten sessions for PTSD. Clinical EFT has been shown to regulate stress hormones and limbic function and to improve various neurologic markers of general health. The epigenetic effects of EFT include upregulation of immunity genes and downregulation of inflammation genes. Six dismantling studies have indicated that the acupressure component of EFT is an active ingredient and not placebo.

Conclusions: Seven empirically supported strengths of the approach were identified that make it especially suitable for use with veterans and active military: (1) the depth and breadth of treatment effects; (2) the relatively brief timeframes required for successful treatment; (3) the low risk of adverse events; (4) the minimal training time required for the approach to be applied effectively; (5) the simultaneous reduction of physical and psychologic symptoms; (6) the utility and cost-effectiveness of clinical EFT in a large group format; and (7) the method's adaptability to online and telemedicine applications.
